Anatomic Institute has a big bone group which has a comprehensive collaboration with Orthopaedic Surgical Research in Aarhus. The research areas are bone metabolism and healing of bone fractures. The influence of parathyroidea hormone, growth hormone, glucocorticoids, oestrogen, immobilisation, vibration, microgravity, age, statins, and strontium on the healing of bone fractures are examined in animal cell models and several orther animal models. Furthermore, the bone group does biocompatibility studies on cell cultures and animal models.
